For the body of the SIRIUS 18th Century Oak, oak from a torn down half-timbered house from the 18th century was used. Beautifully preserved oak is revealed beneath the heavily weathered wooden surface. I deliberately left a few deeper cracks in the wood.
The mahogany neck is not quite as old. Here, wood from an old staircase from 1971 was used. So it is also well stored.
Oak wood is rarely used in guitar making because it is very heavy. However, thanks to the lightweight construction concept of the SIRIUS, the 18th Century Oak weighs only 3.25 kg even with heavy wood.
